Neumann TLM 49 vs TLM 67 I have searched the forums and while there is some info on this topic, many threads are very old, so i'd like an up to date analysis on your opinions on these two mics for voice over and on-camera voice work -kind of TALKING HEAD WITH MIC work. Test as many preamps as you can for sure but I can say with the TLM 49, it just absolutely loves my Summit. They have different sensitivity. I cant say the reason but my guess is that if Neumann says the 49 was an attempt at getting a tube sound from a fet, maybe the preamp with its tubes just reinforces that? I fear that you and I have a different concept of boxiness. btw-I would agree with a previous poster on the UA pre's, in fact any real good tube pre.
